I had to think about this one for a little bit. I have to admit seeing the color flora photographs had conditioned my mind to see the images in certain way; I was almost "disappointed" with a black&white version.
But, as looked more and more, I started seeing things that I really liked. For example, the darkness and sharp contrast of the flowers is very distinct. Also, where the background of the color photos look like paintings, this background looks like charcoal drawings.
In the end, I decided that I really like it after all :-)
